Ashihara released the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 2013. The manga has been on hiatus since November 2016 due to Ashihara's deteriorating physical health, and returned to the magazine in October 2018 for five issues before moving to Jump SQ. in December 2018. Manga then took a month off earlier this year so that Ashihara can recover from the bowel obstruction complications arising from her latest cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal surgery). The manga took another month off in November due to Ashihara's deteriorating physical health.
The manga previously inspired an anime adaptation of two seasons in 2014 and 2015.
