Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 Will Be Released in March 2021

Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0, the fourth film as well as the final film in the tetralogy series Rebuild of Evangelion, as previously reported, has to be postponed, from which it was originally due to be released in Japan on January 23, 2021, but has to be postponed until an undetermined time. This is the second postponement, after the film, which was originally due to be released on June 27, 2020, was postponed to 2021. But now finally this film has been confirmed to be released on March 8, 2021. Take a peek at the newest trailer below:

Rebuild of Evangelion is a film project that was worked on by Hideaki Anno with Studio Khara. This film project was made to remake (remake) the story from the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion in the form of a tetralogy, aka released into four new films. The first to third films of this project have been screened in Japan in 2007, 2009 and 2012. The final film, entitled Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0: Thrice Upon A Time, has certainly not been 6 hours long.

The first and second films of this tetralogy (Evangelion 1.0 and 2.0) come with a story that is more or less the same as the version of the TV anime series that aired in 1995 with a few changes and a few new characters. The third film comes with a new story that is completely different from the previous version. The story is set 14 years after the end of the second film. [post_ads]

The Evangelion: 3.0 + 1.0 film originally titled Shin Evangelion Gekijou-ban: || is planned to be released in 2015. However, the work on the anime film had “stalled” because Hideaki Anno had lost his "enthusiasm" after working on the third film of the tetralogy. In addition, he is also busy with the film project Godzilla: Resurgence which was released in 2016. After the director announced that work on the film was resuming, Studio Khara then opened a new staff recruitment to be involved in the Evangelion 3.0 + 1.0 project.

The three previous films from the Rebuild of Evangelion project have been released in Indonesia. The first film was screened through the Blitzmegaplex cinema network (now CGV Cinemas Indonesia) in 2009, and has been released on VCD and DVD Original, and was briefly screened on the Global TV (now GTV) television station. The second film was screened at the Blitzmegaplex in 2012, and has also been released on Original VCD format, as well as screened on GTV. Meanwhile, the third film was shown at the 2015 Japanese Film Festival.
